Important information for Macintosh Users...
Currently the Dingbat pages offers only PC versions of truetype fonts. However many Font Designers offer Mac Truetype and/or Postscript versions. At this time we unfortunately do not have the resources to offer Mac versions. In the meantime we hope this page will serve as a guide to point you in the right direction.
Though we have never converted fonts it is possible to convert fonts from PC to Mac format. TT Converter (a shareware application for the Mac) converts Mac to PC and is available from the Hyperarchive at MIT here. Or you might wish to try TT FontConverter which converts Mac to PC and PC to Mac and is available from the UMICH Mac Archive here; thanks to Michael for this link.
Additionally, FontLab offers TransType which converts truetype and type 1 fonts Mac to PC and PC to Mac. Also available from FontLab is a Mac version of TypeTool, "the world's cheapest font editor and font format convertor for Type 1 and TrueType fonts".
If you wish to convert PC fonts to Mac versions we highly recommend checking out Publish Girl. There you will find detailed instructions downloadable in PDF format on how to convert fonts using Fontographer, FontLab, Wrefont, Bmap2AFM and Mac2pfb.
For sites offering Mac fonts the best place to start is MacFonts.com
Finally, we would like to recommend the HyperArchive page. The HyperArchive page is the root of a hypertext subtree containing a mirror of the Sumex Info-Mac archives for the Macintosh. It is designed for browsing, allowing fast access to the brief descriptions at the start of .hqx files and reverse-chronological summaries. The HyperArchive is brought to you by the MIT Laboratory for Computer Science. Additional information about the UMICH Mac Archive, similiar to the HyperArchive, can be found here.
